Finding an underground water leak

Upon arrival, we were met with the hotel manager who asked us to find an underground water leak which he knew was ongoing somewhere within the grounds of the Hotel.

After completing a thorough survey of the area we began to track the water mains line with the use of our combi-phon acoustic equipment

Having successfully tracked the layout of the underground water mains supply pipe we were able to start sound testing for the burst pipe and find the water leak.

Through the use of our bell-microphone, we successfully tracked the tell-tale sound of the burst to 25 meters from the building.

We began our excavation where we uncovered a burst 2” black alkathene supply pipe at 1,8 meters under the ground.
